I think I first saw Sidney Poitier in Blackboard Jungle with Vic Morrow and Glenn Ford, then on to In The Heat Of The Night with Rod Steiger and Warren Oates, along with Guess Who's Coming To Dinner, To Sir With Love and the film he won his Oscar for, Lillies Of The Field. He has appeared in a couple of westerns like, Duel At Diablo, Buck And The Preacher. A personal favorite, Shoot To Kill, with Tom Berenger and Kirstie Alley was one of his last.
Amanda Blake was not only a talented actress, but also a beautiful woman, who just happened upon the role of a lifetime in .Miss Kitty of Gunsmoke. After 19 years, she gave it up, which probably contributed to the demise of the program, because as she put it" if I have to get into that damn corset one more time"!!
Brion James was one of the best villains ever. He appeared in Blade Runner, 48 Hours with Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy and returned in Another 48 Hours, The Fifth Element, Red Heat. He also appeared in a couple of westerns like Silverado, and one of the Kenny Rogers " Gambler" films. A prolific actor, he has been a guest star on every t.v. series you can think of, at one time or another. He passed away, at the young age of 54.
