Paul Brinegar was best known as Wishbone, the cantankerous cook on Rawhide, and he was in several TV Westerns and movies. He played the bar keep in High Plains Drifter, a parody of the Wishbone character in The Gambler: Luck of the Draw, Jelly Hoskins on Lancer, Mayor Jim "Mad Dog" Kelly on The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp, and his last role as the stagecoach driver in the movie Maverick.

Wayne Maunder was the star of 2 TV Westerns in the 1960s: Custer (1967), and Lancer (1968-1970), and also starred in the police drama Chase (1973-74). He would also appear in several TV shows into the early 1980s, before retiring from acting in 1982.

Robert Urich started his career in 1972, and was cast as Bob Sanders in the series Bob, Carol, Ted, and Alice in 1973, and was later cast as Officer Jim Street on SWAT, Peter on the first season of Soap, and Paul Thurston on the Bewitched spin-off Tabitha, before landing the role hard-boiled private eye Dan Tanna on Vega$. In the early 1980s, he was in some forgettable movies like Ice Pirates, and some short lived shows before being cast as Robert B. Parker's tough, intellectual, and compassionate private detective in Spenser For Hire. In 1989, he was cast as Jake Spoon in the groundbreaking mini-series Lonesome Dove. In the 1990s he appeared in several made for TV movies, including 3 as Spenser, and some short lived series like Lazarus Man and Love Boat: The Next Wave. But he was fighting a battle with cancer from 1996 until his death at the age of 55.
