| Howdy Manco!!
Richard Denning appeared in many films during the 40's as a supporting actor, but it was the 50's and the film, Creature From The Black Lagoon, that I remember him best from. Denning had 2 t.v. series, .Mr And .Mrs North and Michael Shayne, but when fans of his t.v. work, think of him, they will remember his role as Govenor on the hit t.v. series, Hawaii 5-0, best. Denning was actually retired and living on the island of Maui, when he was approached for the role. He was guarenteed 5 hours a day and a 4 day work week to get him to agree to do it.
Although David Janssen appeared in many movies as a supporting actor, most notably The Green Berets with John Wayne, he will probably be best remembered for his successful t.v. series. He had 4 of them, beginning with Richard Diamond, Private Detective, in the early 50's, them came the smash hit The Fugitive as .Dr Richard Kimball, who was always chasing the one armed, one legged, one eyed man (just Kidding). The only thing they forgot, was to call the fella "Lucky". Then came O'Hara, U.S. Treasury and finally Harry O. Janssen was filming a 5th t.v. series about a priest, when he died of a heart attack. Although Janssen will probably be remembered best for the series The Fugitive, I will always remember him from his 1st series Richard Diamond, because he was always checking in with the switchboard operator to see if he had any messages. They only showed the girl from the knees down from the back. This young lady, whose face was never seen on the series, turned out to be a young Mary Tyler Moore!!

| Richard Denning is probably best known as Jerry North on Mr.& Mrs. North, and as Michael Shayne, as well as Gov. Paul Jameson on Hawaii Five-0.
We all remember David Jansenn as Dr. Richard Kimble on The Fugitive, Richard Diamond Private Detective, and Harry O. He was in the Army with Clint Eastwood and Martin Milner. Died too young from a heart attack at the age of 48. | |
