Howdy Tinhorn!!

Took me a second to remember Jeff Richards. This fella came out of the military in 1946 and after a screen test, began his film career in 1948. He appeared on several t.v. series and in 1954, he snagged the part of Benjamin Pontipee in Seven Brides For Seven Brothers. In 1957, he appeared in an episode of the series, The Web and the next year the network spun the episode off into the series, Jefferson Drum, in which he was cast in the starring role. As I recollect, he played a newspaper editor on the show. Jeff continued to appear on series like, Rawhide and Laramie into the mid 60's and retired from acting. He went to work in construction for Hollywood and built many of the sets for series we watched on t.v. This tall good looking fella died at the age of 66 in 1989.

Betsy Palmer began her film career in 1951 and in 1955, she was selected to appear in 2 films of note, .Mr Roberts and The Long Grey Line. Most of us will remember her as a panelist on the 2 t.v. game shows, To Tell The Truth and I've Got A Secret. The younger generation will probably remember her best, as the mother of Jason Voorhees in the 1980 horror film, Friday The Thirteenth and another horror film, Penny Dreadful. Betsy was asked to reprise the role of Jason's Mother in the 2001 film, Jason X., but she refused because she thought it was too small a role and instead told them to use her 1980 film footage. She retired from acting in 2007 and these days spends her time between her 2 homes in New York and Sedona Arizona.
