| Howdy Manco!!
Georges Delerue was a composer. He composed hundreds of themes for films, including, Anne Of A Thousand Days, Platoon, Cadence and many many others. I don't think he did many westerns, unless you count, Shoot The Piano Player!

| A French gangster film? I don't think I'd count that, count that, Chain! (But then again yore jest joshjn', right?) It was based on the novel Down There by American crime writer David Goodis. I haven't seen Shoot the Piano Player in many years but I remember it very fondly - and I remember the music.
March 12 is birthday also to Titus Welliver, Silas Adams on the wholesome series Deadwood, as well as two actresses who guested in Westerns in TV's golden age, Myrna Fahey and the lovely Saundra Edwards, one-time Warners contract player. She adopted a Scots accent for a Cheyenne episode ("Dead to Rights" I think) and was especially memorable (to me, at least) in a few scenes with Jack Kelly in the Maverick episode "Burial Ground of the Gods." Married to Tom Gilson, a frequent handsome-but-nasty character in Lawman among other shows, she terminated their relationship by fatally shooting him (evidently the nasty bit wasn't an act). A jury ruled it justifiable homicide, but Saundra's career never recovered. | |
