I had not heard of Allene Ray, and looked her up on IMDB. She grew up on a ranch in Texas, and was a very skilled on horses. So much that she did most of her own stunts. She was shy and reserved, and no smoking or swearing was allowed on the set in her presence. Her career was a short one. Her first film was a short in 1917. In 1924 she got a contract with Pathe, and in 1929 with Universal, but she stopped acting in 1930 (with The Phantom being released in 1931), save for one appearance in 1949s Gun Cargo.
